Region 8 Regional Performance Innovative Consortium (RPIC)

The Region 8 Regional Performance Innovation Consortium (RPIC), is a successful collaboration between the Community Action State Associations and State CSBG Offices who serve all 75 Community Action Agencies and CSBG-eligible entities in the states of: Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

All Community Action Agencies and CSBG-eligible entities (public and private) from Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming are welcome and encouraged to attend the trainings offered by the Region 8 RPIC!

Org Code - October - December 2020

Org Code. We work around the world. We are located throughout the United States and Canada. We see firsthand and influence firsthand hundreds of communities each year. We see our work as a privilege. We are motivated by making lasting change. We are rewarded by seeing change happen. We make a difference and are grateful for the opportunity to do so. We call it like it is…like an internal monologue gone external. What we want is lasting social change for adults, families, and youth.

  • This training is offered over two half-days and is filled with practical knowledge for Rapid ReHousing, Permanent Supportive Housing and Intensive Case Management Practitioners. Among the topics covered: Housing First, steps and focus of support, strategies to secure housing and liaise effectively with landlords, and goal-setting.

  • Trauma-Informed Care - November 11, 2020

    WHAT: The Region 8 RPIC is hosting this training with consultants from Org Code for providers who work directly with homelessness response and housing support systems. The training is FREE of charge for all Region 8 CAAs!  Each webinar provides different opportunities to enhance attendee's knowledge of housing stability.  The trainings are aligned to evidence and built-upon experience with practical knowledge.

    REGISTRATION: Register HERE: Trauma-Informed Care: Trauma and the basics of trauma-informed care in the context of homelessness and housing programs is covered in this webinar, which is a must for all staff that have direct interaction with program participants. Topics covered include: defining and understanding trauma, principles of a trauma-informed approach and its applications in program design and operations. November 11, 2020 8:00 am - 11:00 am MT/9:00 AM - 12:00 PM CT

    REGISTRATION: Register HERE: Strategies for Engagement - Motivational Interviewing and Assertive Engagement. Motivational interviewing can be a critical tool used to help inspire and support change.  Assertive engagement can be useful when/if change is not happening and there are concerns of harm.  Topics covered include: an intro to MI and AE principles, application, simple tools, and preparing and practicing the application. December 17, 2020  8:00 am - 11:00 am MT/9:00 AM - 12:00 PM CT


Financial Health Institute and Lab - October - December 2020

The Financial Health Institute & Lab is the leading financial health and personal economics education provider throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. For over 13 years, they have designed, developed and implemented innovative and effective financial health and economic education curricula and classes to a wide range of participants from diverse, economically vulnerable populations, and the professionals and organizations that serve those people.

  • Non-therapist direct service providers (case managers, navigators, etc.) need to understand (Healing) Trauma Informed Care (TIC) in order to work with program participants. This workshop includes foundation knowledge about TIC, including the Traumatic Stress Response & Window of Tolerance. Identify the effects of stress, trauma, secondary trauma, compassion fatigue on yourself & others.

  • There are more ways to look at poverty than just a number for household income. And income alone doesn’t tell the full story of people in poverty or people just above the poverty line who are struggling to develop economic security. Poverty is an ecosystem, interconnected with all other aspects of our society through multiple inputs, outcomes and constraints, deeply affecting real people’s lives


Coping with COVID Webinar Series - October - December 2020

Coping with COVID is a webinar series offered by Kay Glidden and Beth Reynolds Lewis from Compassion Resiliency. Each webinar provides different tools and resources you can use right now to increase your resiliency through COVID-19.  The agenda includes: Meditation, Tools you can Use Right Now, Discussion on Your Coping Ideas, and Mindful Movements.  Attendees are welcome to attend one, two, or all sessions!  Registration is required and is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
