 s a primer for case managers and direct service workers to help them acqui
 re a basic understanding of case management practices and the skills neces
 sary to be successful in their job. The course serves as a basic primer fo
 r community based non-profit or local government organizations. This cours
 e will be conducted in person only and is limited to 25 people. \nThe cour
 se provides a conceptual framework and a “hands-on” approach for the case 
 manager and direct service worker. It is intended to combine sound managem
 ent theory\, Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA)\, and b
 est practices for a balanced curriculum that addresses the academic and pr
 ofessional interests of persons employed in human services.\nThe technique
 s and strategies recommended in the course can be applied to any organizat
 ion using case management practices as it relates to the client and issues
  of reporting\, accountability\, and the overall management of human servi
 ces.\n\nRegistration\, materials and meals/refreshments are free to all pa
 rticipants. There are rooms available to book should you need them.\n\nThi
 s class is accredited by Temple University for CEU for licensed social wor
 kers\, therapists and counselors.  Certification also issued for persons n
 ot requiring CEUs.\nLearning Objectives:\n•	The role of the organization in
  implementing and supporting case management.\n•	Identifying why data colle
 ction and information management is important to the health and well-being
  of the organization and the importance of front line staff in the data co
 llection process.\n•	To better understand the economics of poverty and the 
 relationship to income.\n•	To learn about the two primary ways society meas
 ures poverty\; the traditional way of measuring poverty using the federal 
 poverty levels (FPL) and the movement to measure poverty using a living wa
 ge.\n•	Identify the characteristics that distinguish Direct Service clients
  from Case Management clients and how this affects service delivery and ex
 pected outcomes.\n•	Identify information requirements of the intake process
 .\n•	Compare a single intake to a common intake process.\n•	Identify key man
 agement questions that can be answered as a result of a common intake proc
 ess.\n•	To learn how Assessment tools support client management\, timelines
 s for intervention and to determine the status of well-being.\n•	To learn h
 ow Outcomes Scales and an Outcome Matrix are used to assess need\, set goa
 ls for stability and self-sufficiency and manage clients.\n•	Develop a case
  plan or action plan for the family.\n•	Write measurable goals and objectiv
 es using outcomes and indicators.\n•	Implement the plan and evaluate and mo
